“When you find out that your life is at serious risk if you don’t lose weight and establish a healthy diet, it’s petrifying. I knew I needed to do it, but unfortunately, I’d been on numerous diets during my life and never succeeded in keeping the weight off.  As far as everyone could tell, my diet was a good one.  But I was worried that I’d not be able to lose weight this time.

With the help of those at SmallerKnickers, I discovered deep routed beliefs and related habits that had been causing me problems all these years.  And I’d never really been aware of them.  It never crossed my mind that events that happened to me in the past could have such power over my day-to-day eating behaviour.  But after working these out, I was able to change my habits for the good.

1.5 years and 4 stone weight loss later, I’m delighted.  And so is my husband, and so is my doctor.

I’ve had numerous outfits taken in at the dressmakers – it’s a great feeling to go in and ask for the alterations, and to show off where my waistbands are too big!  The other day I went to the shop to buy size 18 knickers, and bought size 16 by mistake.  But they fit! My tastes seem to have changed as well.  I no longer crave sugar or fatty foods – in fact, I don’t particularly like the taste any more.  All the changes I’ve made seem to now be more natural and easy to keep up.

“I really enjoyed the session on the weekend, and ever since, have been much more aware of what I am eating and have tried to think why I wanted to eat something like a biscuit, and then realised I would get more satisfaction by choosing not to! Thanks for getting me into ‘started’ mode instead of ‘thinking about it’!

I feel as though I am back on track again and in control. The techniques have been really helpful and the positive thoughts of the person I want to be in the future as opposed to the plump thing in the mirror! “I am enjoying the new control I am having on my life….even if progress turns out to be slow….that’s fine, I feel so much better in so many unexpected ways!!  Well, by that I mean it changes your outlook, your thoughts, your positivity, your energy levels and MUST gradually affect your weight too. I think as you become more involved with it all, after getting a few changes under your belt, you can pay more attention to meal planning and food shopping, which is where I am now.

My body is wondering what on earth is this new thing called “ Fruit”! I have not consumed biscuits, cake, chocolate or crisps since week 2 of your programme. I complete my food and exercise diary, I practice conscious breathing daily, I count my steps and try to increase them by various interesting ways when indoors and I have been doing Pilates at home sometimes. I want to say weekly, but I know I did none in Spain….just plenty of walking!

I have even gone back to choosing tea when I go out instead of latte, which was never very good anyway!  I have also realised, that although I rarely have a pudding at home, I somehow felt it was a requirement to consume 3 courses when out! even if none of the puds were really top choices.  So I am bursting with pride! And feel very capable. Thank you coaches.”
